Al Ain University, United Arab of Emirates

Established in 2004, Al Ain University (AAU) opened the doors to its first student cohort in 2005. AAU has two campuses, one in Al Ain and another in Abu Dhabi. Having begun with three colleges (Engineering, Business, Education, Humanities and Social Sciences), the University has continued to expand its program offerings which now include 17 undergraduate programs across six colleges (Engineering, Pharmacy, Law, Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, Business and Communication and Media) and 9 Master’s programs, as well as a Professional Diploma in Teaching.

AAU is licensed to operate under the auspices of the UAE Ministry of Education (MoE). AAU continues to successfully seek international accreditation of its programs by respected educational bodies. The College of Engineering is accredited by the US-based Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), The University’s Bachelor of Pharmacy program has the distinction of being the first in the UAE to be granted International Certification by the prestigious Accreditation Council of Pharmacy Education (ACPE) in the US. Whilst the University’s Bachelor of Law program received accreditation from the Supreme Council for Evaluation, Research and Higher Education (HCERES) in France and, the Bachelor of Mass Communication and Media accredited by AQAS.

AAU was initially named as Al Ain University of Science and Technology, Changing the name of Al Ain University of Science and Technology to Al Ain University came from the AAU’s keen to keep pace with the society changes, and this initiative is a part of a new development phase in knowledge, research, scientific, academic and community, in order to graduate an exceptional generation capable to face the future challenges and keep pace with all developments and specializations, to meet the requirements of the labor market locally and globally.
