Al Ain University came from the AAU’s keen to keep pace with the society changes, and this initiative is a part of a new development phase in knowledge, research, scientific, academic and community, in order to graduate an exceptional generation capable to face the future challenges and keep pace with all developments and specializations, to meet the requirements of the labor market locally and globally.
Al Ain University has made efforts to convert its facilities into green campuses, promoting a green environment where more spaces are provided for vegetation and safeguarding the environment.
The goal is for the university's design and architecture to be fully consistent with sustainable building standards and also compatible with climatic conditions and geographic location.

The open space area of the AAU campuses are proportionally more in volume than the used area as the AAU has future plans to flourish asper the requirements in the upcoming years, in terms of new buildings and in terms of sports, recreational facilities etc.. The new campus building was inaugurated at Al Ain campus during the first semester of the academic year 2021 and the management is also in the process of two new building projects which would be benefitted in the coming years.

Total number of online students
Al Ain University adopted the application of the "Blended" education system during the first semester of the new academic year 2020-2021, which started by August 30, 2020, through the distance learning for the theoretical courses and on-campus attendance for the labs, with adherence to the procedures related to health and safety (COVID-19).
Al Ain University (AAU) has received the highest ratings (5-stars) in “Online Learning” category, based on the “QS Stars Rating System”, operated by QS (the independent compiler of the QS World University Rankings since 2004). The QS Stars offers the academic institutions the opportunity to be assessed in their ability to deliver online teaching through distance or blended learning degrees.
The “QS Stars Online Learning” category is comprised of several indicators, each worth between 5 and 30 points, for a total possible score of 100. These indicators look at a variety of aspects of online learning, and institutions submit evidence to show how well they meet each of these criteria. The indicators are: Student-faculty engagement, Student interaction, Student services and technology, Online outsourcing, Application per enrolment / Faculty-student ratio, and Commitment to online learning.

AAU have highly qualified Academic and Administrative Staff members under each job titles with relevant experience and suitable educational qualifications to render their work with high quality and efficiency. The AAU also provide valid professional development programs suitable for all its staff to ensure smooth workflow without any hindrances, for which the AAU adopts several aspects and tools to measure and collect the response of its stakeholders and give back with quality solutions.

“Sustainable Universities Initiative” at Al Ain University
The College of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences at Al Ain University, Al Ain campus, hosted Ms. Amani Bin Humaid, Ms. Aisha Al Mazroui, Coordinators of the Sustainable Universities Initiative at Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi, and Mr. Ahmad Al Rmaithi, Representative of Borouge, to present an awareness lecture on sustainable universities initiative implemented by the EAD in cooperation with Borouge, in the presence of the faculty members and students.
This initiative aims to increase sustainable practices in Abu Dhabi's universities through a range of elements, first; Green audit, includes five species land, climate change, biodiversity, water and waste. The agency provides intensive training for university students by forming teams of interdisciplinary students. Second: Sustainability Measures Project (SAP): the agency establishes a student club at each university to undertake an environmental project that benefits the community. Third: The Green Youth Council: Students from different universities and scientific disciplines meet periodically to discuss ideas for building sustainable communities. The Council is recognized by various international organizations, including the World Summit in Japan, a forum where youth can discuss innovative ideas and projects that can promote sustainable societies for our future generations. The aim of this lecture is to contribute positively in developing a sustainable environment and climate change issues which attract the attention of all countries, including the United Arab Emirates.
In addition, Al Ain University is keen to strengthen partnership with government, private and environmental institutions to raise environmental awareness and sustainable development.

AAU Library
The main AAU Library in Al Ain was inaugurated in September 2005 with approximately 5000 volumes. Since then the collections have increased significantly every year. Today, AAU libraries in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, contain more than 80,000 volumes of books, periodicals, multimedia, etc.
AAU library follows the Anglo-American cataloguing systems and the Library of Congress classification for collection management. All library services are computerized using an integrated system, Symphony, which facilitates access to online catalogue inside and outside the library. In addition to wireless connection, the libraries provide 114 computers for internet use, 39 rooms for study and group discussions, and 116 tables.
Campus facilities for disable and maternity care

In Al Ain, we are committed to our strategic plan, which entails establishing an effective program for the conservation and preservation of wildlife. The mission of the program is to build specialized capacities within research projects, following international best practices addressing the endangerment of animals in desert environments.
