Education represents the basis for the sustainable development of a nation in its three dimensions: economic, social and environmental. Al Ain promotes an active learning process, which aims to help develop skills for action; that is, capacities to imagine, investigate, plan and act.

AAU has an important role to play in two fundamental aspects: increasing awareness and learning about sustainability, providing the skills they need to participate, now and in the future, in projects aimed at achieving it, and developing sustainable habits.
