At AAU the usage of electricity and consumption of water happens majority during the day time between 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (12 hours) as routine shifts for academic and admin staff is only from 8 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. and the remaining faculties and students at campus could only be until 8.pm. Hence the carbon emission in campus is only limited within this time and the total vehicles used inside campus is approximately 600 per day and the drive in space for vehicles is only within 25km. Apart from the carbon emission from vehicles AAU does have agreement with the waste management company to manage all general waste on campus.
